Denver - a city of beauty in the USA

Are you planning for a trip with your family? Why not visit Denver, in Colarado USA. Everyone including the little ones will enjoy it, as it has many fun things to do and see. Denver in Colarado is a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and urban sophistication.

This is a city filled with many different cultures, and the population of Denver and its surrounding metro area is more than two million people!  Denver is an area that sees people celebrate and experience many different religions, festivals, celebrations, and ways of life. And to top it off, it has 300 days of sunshine a year, what more can you ask for? So once you visit Denver, you will keep on coming back.

Now where can we find Denver? It's in Colorado USA, basically in the middle sort of thing and here it is on the map.

Not only is the culture in Denver diverse, but the city is also known for how educated it is. In fact, it is one of the most educated cities in the United States, with over 90 percent of its residents with high school diplomas and over 30 percent with college degrees. So how about that! It has the University of Colorado Denver, which has 3 locations in the Denver area. It's I homepage says "By combining the excellence of our academic programs at our downtown location with the extensive research and teaching of our health sciences center, we are Colorado’s premier research university."

Denver is also a young city with the median age being about 32, and a healthy city - - being named the "thinnest" city in America. Sources say that Denverites are not as overweight as people living in other cities because Denver promotes an active and recreational lifestyle, with so many outdoor activities readily available to its residents.

Major Attractions of Denver:

Denver Botanic garden: They are lucky enough to have one of America's best botanic gardens. It can be found adjacent to Denver's Cheesman Park between the park and York Street. The Denver Botanic Gardens features 23 acres of colorful flowers, exotic plants, striking hardscaping, peaceful sitting areas and sculpture. It also has more than 15,000 species from around the world. So for all you green thumbs out there, do not miss this one.

Tattered Cover Bookstore: This world-famous five story bookstore offers a relaxing atmosphere perfect for browsing. It is known for offering customers a personal touch. Have a look at their cool and wacky website.

Larimer Square: Part of the first downtown area of Denver, this locale has been restored as a trendy shopping area.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts: Dedicated to excellence in the arts, Denver's showcase features live theatre, original plays and Broadway-style shows. High School Musical is now showing, check http://www.denvercenter.org/home.cfm for all the details on up and coming and now showing events.

Molly Brown House Museum: This fancy antique-filled Victorian house was the home of Molly Brown, a famous survivor of the Titanic called the "unsinkable". Why not visit and stay for a Titanic Dinner, a once in a lifetime experience.

Coors Field: Coors Field truly is beautiful and  DT Denver has something for everyone after the game.

16th Street Mall: Located in the heart of Denver, this vibrant area offers a variety of shops and places to relax. Now l could just go crazy here, will all the shopping l could do and all the money l could spend, MMMMM.

Denver Zoo: This zoo is home to more than 4000 animals representing over 700 species. Features include: Tropical Discovery, a large indoor rainforest featuring both marine and freshwater aquariums. Your kids will love it, it is something the whole family can do. Also, they offer "an early morning photography session long before the zoo opens to the public. They mention rain or shine, tickets are non-refundable.  Get the morning light on a variety of animals including bighorn sheep, arctic wolves, harbor seals, eagles and many more! In addition to the early entry to the zoo, participants can enjoy an exclusive close-up photo session of macaws and raptors". You can also just take that special someone to the zoo and make a day of it, just remember to pack a picnic lunch.

Black American West Museum and Heritage Center: A museum that explores the history of black cowboys, wranglers and ranchers in the American West.

Colorado History Museum: Visit this museum to explore Colorado's pioneer history through artifacts and photographs. The building is an artwork within itself.

Colorado State Capitol: A key feature in the Denver skyline because of its gold bell-shaped dome, the Capitol Building, fittingly in the Mile High City. Free tours are available for visitors. See how beautiful it looks at night.

Mount Goliath and Mount Evans: If you like mountains, they are a must visit, there are also a number of beautiful lakes to admire on the way. Mount Evans Scenic Byway, is a high-altitude scenic drive which climbs more than 7,000 feet in just 28 miles, reaching an altitude of 14,264 feet. Now that is some height, not for those with vertigo or acrophobia.

Ski Train: The ski train from Denver to Winter Park, Colorado is a neat way to get to your skiing destination without driving.The views are amazing, and having someone else do the 'driving' is not too bad...

Buffalo National Forest: A wonderful camping and mountain biking area. So why not get out and do some exercise while enjoying the specatcular views on offer. 

LoDo: Short for Lower Downtown, this 29-block section of trendy bars, restaurants and shops also contains preserved buildings from the city's original settlement. Money, MOney, MOneY.

Cherry Creek North: An outdoor mall covering 26 blocks of various shops, galleries, salons, restaurants, etc.

Parks: This city offers many parks where you can just for a walk and enjoy the view, they include City park - Denver, Denver Mountain park, Civic Center park, Washington park, Cheeseman park, Ruby Hill Park and Four Mile House Historic Park. (I told you it has many!!!)
