Stem cells are special cells that can turn into many different cell types in the body such as heart muscle cells, brain cells, and skin cells.

• Adult Stem Cells - a supply of stem cells that can multiply when needed to repair adult organs and tissue. Adult stem cells are found in the human body and in umbilical cord blood. • Embryonic Stem Cells - cells found early (less than 2 wks.) in the development of an embryo that can progenerate a developing fetus and ultimately a human baby. Embryonic stem cells are the most versatile because they can become any cell in the body including fetal stem cells and adult stem cells.

Finally Beverly Hills Pop Eddie Murphy accepted Iris Angel as his daughter and will give full financial support till she is adult. Under the terms of the agreement, Eddie has to pay $50k a month in child support until their baby, Iris Angel, turns 18. Eddie has also agreed to see his 20-month-old child. Spice Girl Mel and the Hollywood actor have spent 15 months warring in Los Angeles courts. She has been determined to force him to play a part in his child's life. Sources told News of the World that, under the terms of the deal, both have signed non- disclosure contracts preventing either from discussing the settlement in public.

One of Scary Spice's pals told: "Mel is delighted that the case is over as she just wanted what was right for her girl. "It was never about money - it was Mel's way of asking Eddie to show consideration for Angel." Eddie broke up with Mel, when she fell pregnant and declined to accept Iris as his daughter. After DNA test it was proved that he was her biological father. Mel said: "I want Angel to know she has two parents who love her." She is now a model for Ultimo and is married to movie director Stephen Belafonte. Well done Mel, you finally did it. Listening the first word from your baby is a great feeling. Isn't it and when the word is "mama"? Your joy knows no bound, but l must say the first word my son said was "daddy"! Generally babies utter their first words at 11 to 14 months, when the tongue and lips gain dexterity and the brain starts to match up objects with names. Every child learns to speak with time but you as a parent can help them to talk from birth onwards. Critical milestones for a baby learning to talk happen in the first three years of life.

• Baby talk at 3 months: By the end of three months, babies begin "cooing" -- a happy, gentle, repetitive, sing-song vocalization. At three months, your baby listens to your voice, watches your face as you talk, and turns toward other voices and sounds.
• Baby talk at 6 months: At six months, your baby begins babbling with different sounds, "ba-ba" or "da-da." By the end of the sixth or seventh month, babies respond to their own names, recognize their native language.

Toddler develop great social skills through the interaction they have with people around them. Different activities help to develop mental, physical, social and emotional skills to stimulate your children's imagination and creativity. As a parent you should involve your child in such activities through which your toddler can understand and learn the world around him.

• Importance of Money: Give your child different coins and ask them to count them. Teach your child how to use the money and about money which will enable them to understand the value of it.

• Encouraging Play with Others: Always involve and encourage your child to play in a group. This will inculcate the team skills in your child. They will watch and often copy what they see others do, even though they're not yet able to play with them. I am sure untill now your toddler thinks everything is MINE, but they need to learn the skill of sharing. As they grow and become more experienced at play, they'll learn to play with other children. This is called "cooperative" play, and usually happens after the age of 3. In cooperative play, children learn to work and solve problems together, and develop their social skills.

Nappy rash is very common - most babies will get it at some point. It is not usually a 'disease', but just an irritation of the skin. It is usually caused when your baby's skin comes into contact with urine and faeces that collects in their nappy. Leaving a wet nappy on a baby for long periods of time can make the rash worse.

• Inflamed skin - the skin around the genital area and anus looks red and moist.
• Blistering - the skin may blister, then peel, leaving raw patches (ulcers).
• Spreading - the rash can spread onto the tummy and buttocks.
• Ulcers - small ulcers can sometimes form on healthy skin near the area of the rash.

Did you know that during pregnancy, the basic framework of a babies brain is formed. The different parts of the brain are in place, for example the brain stem, thalamus, and cerebellum. This initial development also provides basic brain functions that help the baby live. After birth the brain is still immature in that the connections between different parts of the brain are not yet formed. The literature also says that to some extent formation of the connections depend on exposure to our environment--through relationships and experiences. SIDS is the sudden death of an infant under one year of age which remains unexplained. SIDS stands for "sudden infant death syndrome". The majority of SIDS cases are babies who die in their sleep and it is a sad thing that leaves parents inconsolable and often blaming themselves, because in most cases, doctors can find no medical reason for death.

It has been discovered that babies who die of SIDS are born with one or more conditions that make them especially vulnerable to stresses that occur in the normal life of an infant, including both internal and external influences. SIDS occurs in all types of families. Most deaths from SIDS occur by the end of the sixth month. African-American infants are twice as likely and Native American infants are about three times more likely to die of SIDS than Caucasian infants and more boys than girls fall victim to SIDS as reported by kidshealth.org.
