May is National Museum Month and what better way to celebrate it than by visiting the
Museum of Sex with your someone special? Located at 233 Fifth Avenue (near 27th Street) in Manhattan, New York City, the Museum opened in 2002.
It’s nickname, MoSex doesn’t leave much to the imagination, and neither does this unique venue .It features an extensive permanent collection, special events, book signings, and an aphrodisiac-themed café.
The MoSex Deets
MoSex is open Sunday- Thursday from 10am until 8pm and Friday-Saturday from 10am until 9pm. Admission is limited to those who are 18-years-of-age and older and costs $17.50 + tax. Students and Senior admission is $15.25 + tax. Currently available on the MoSex website, there is a $3 off coupon (for any regular $17.50 ticket). Folks are also invited to signup for the MoSex email list which offers sex news, invites to exhibit openings and drink specials for the OralFix bar (which offers aphrodisiac specialty cocktails).
Current Events and Exhibits
Upcoming events include the Karrine Steffans’ Drink Fuck Sleep Book signing on May 30th, Wide Open Wednesday (open mic night) on June 6th, and Pop His Rocket (a class in the art of blowjobs) on June 7th.
June 12th from 6pm – 8pm, a special event called Club 90: Golden Girls of Porn will be held at the Museum. It features some of the biggest names in adult film, including my personal favorite, Annie Sprinkle. If you are in or near the City, this is one event you won’t want to miss!
