Looking for a budget-friendly evening? There are many ways to have a romantic and memorable date without spending a fortune. Here are some ideas for a great Valentine’s Day:

Enjoy a Dinner Date at Home

Fancy restaurants aren’t the only way to celebrate your romance. Instead, plan a nice homemade meal. You can surprise your valentine by preparing something special, or invite them over to cook together. Play some music and spend an enjoyable evening together preparing a meal. Stop by your local bakery before and pick up a ready-made delicious dessert, and you two can enjoy this sweet with some white wine to end the evening.

Enjoy a Picnic in the Park

Be adventurous and go somewhere you have never visited before, such as a nearby nature preserve or city park. Bring a picnic along, filling your basket with foods from the local deli or homemade treat. Remember to pack foods that aren’t very messy and don’t need extended refrigeration. And why, bring a bottle of bubbly (open container regulations permitting!)

    Go Out for Dessert

A fantastic compromise for dining out! Enjoy a meal together at home, then head to a gourmet restaurant for dessert instead of the full meal. By skipping expensive main dishes, you two can splurge on delicious fancy desserts. Add on a Champagne bottle (moderately priced), and voila! A romantic evening for two. You could even try finding a restaurant with a dessert room, or a restaurant with chocolate fondue.

    Crowdsaving Sites

Sites such as LivingSocial and Groupon often have great deals for Valentine’s Day. Spa afternoons, boutique hotels, outdoor adventures, and dinner for two are just some of the deals that come up daily. If you buy one, make sure to call and reserve your spot beforehand. And remember to bring along your printed coupon, or activate the discount using an app on your cell.

Remember, Valentine’s Day is about the love that comes from within! A thoughtful and simple Valentine’s Day activity or gesture will be much more meaningful than an expensive dinner. Focus on each other and enjoy the time spent together on this romantic day.
