Step-by-step chocolate cake
Pump it0 Dump it0      Posted on: 12-Jun-2009
If you follow this step by step chocolate cake you are going to reach a wonderful result. It is important to cool the warm chocolate mixture before adding the remaining dry ingredients and egg. Adding egg to a hot mixture can cook it before it has been mixed through - the result is a cake containing scrambled eggs!

Step-by-step chocolate cake

It is best to use a bamboo skewer to check if a cake is ready - the mixture will easily stick to the bamboo if the cake is not yet cooked, or slip off if ready. This cake is best left in its pan to cool before turning on to a rack. Densely textured cakes, such as this, are more delicate when hot and can easily split if turned out too early. Make sure the cake is completely cooled before splitting.

Blue Designer Eggs

Materials required:

  • Boiled Eggs
  • Round stickers and strips of tape
  • Vinegar
  • Blue and red food coloring

Method: Hard-boil eggs before you dye them, or blow them after dyeing. To reduce the chances of your eggs cracking when hard-boiling, use very fresh eggs and make sure they are at room temperature. Cook in a small saucepan so eggs move around less, and remember they should simmer rather than boil. To blow eggs, use a long needle to make a small hole at each end of egg. Place your mouth on one end and blow the contents into a bowl. Rinse egg out with water and a little vinegar then allow to dry on paper towels.

Hazelnut & chocolate crepe stack
Pump it0 Dump it0      Posted on: 02-Apr-2009
A crêpe is a type of very thin, cooked pancake usually made from wheat flour. The word, like the pancake itself, is of French origin, deriving from the Latin crispa, meaning "curled." While crêpes originate from Brittany, a region in the northwest of France, their consumption is nowadays widespread in France and is considered the national dish. In Brittany, crêpes are traditionally served with cider. For the chocoholic this is a delicious recipe to enjoy with family and friends.
