This recipe is truly Hungarian and becomes an elegant meal when served with a nice and refreshing cucumber salad and a nice bottle of white wine. It can be pulled together quickly, especially if the vegetables are prepped the night before. Indulge in this "Chicken paprika with dumplings" otherwise known as csirke paprikas!
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. canola (or other vegetable) oil
1 (2 1/2 to 3 pound) broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
2 med. onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 med. tomato, chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
2 Tbsp. sweet Hungarian paprika
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 med. green bell pepper, cut into 1/2-in. strips
