Are you scared of cooking? Don't worry I have a wonderful recipe to make pancakes which is easy to cook and fabulous in taste, you cannot go wrong. They only take 15 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to cook, so when your child has friends over you can make them up in no time.
Ingredients (Makes 5 pancakes)
1 Cup flour all purpose.
1 Egg
1 Tablespoon melted butter or margarine.
2/3 Cup milk.
1 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder.
3 Tablespoon sugar.
1/4 Tablespoon salt.
Method
1. In a large bowl shift the dry ingredients together, add the egg and mix it in until it is almost absorbed. Add the milk and mix until semi-smooth. Mix in the melted butter/margarine.
2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot with syrup on the top.
3. Use less sugar when you make the pancakes if you like to use a lot of syrup. Also, you can experiment with the toppings, the list is endless- fruit and cream, chocolate sauce, syrup, icing sugar, just go with what your kids like.
Also, if you want to make them more healthy, you could always your wholemeal flour and low fat milk, they will never taste the difference! Remember to increase the amount of ingredients according to the number of pancakes you need to make, this recipe makes 5.
