This Independence Day, spark your children’s creativity and inspire learning with some 4th of July crafts for kids.

    Educational Fourth of July Crafts

Depending on the age of your children, a variety of learning games and crafts are available for the holiday. For younger children, you can work on learning names, shapes, and locations of the 50 states, (or even just the 13 original colonies). You can print maps or use online games for children to help facilitate learning.

For older children, you can discuss the Declaration of Independence, the Founding FathersThomas Jefferson, and the American Revolution. Learning crafts may include portraits of the founding fathers, or creating a mock-up of the Declaration of Independence to hang up in your home. For teenagers – you could even encourage them to write their own Declaration of Independence (from you) to hang up in their bedroom or on their bedroom door – just remind them to keep it civil.

Fun July 4th Crafts for Kids

Any basic crafts can generally be customized for the 4th for July with the addition of red, white, and blue color. A basic white paper pinwheel, for example, can be drawn on, stamped, colored, or painted with red and blue to create a patriotic pinwheel. You can even add a bit of glitter, but be careful not to overdo it as glitter can weigh it down and prevent it from spinning properly.

Another fun and simple July 4th craft for kids is Uncle Sam portraits. From the basic paper and crayons to paper plate faces with cotton-ball beards and construction paper or felt hats, Uncle Sam is a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July with children.

A new home video game console is released by Nintendo. Wii aims to change the face of gaming, with a revolutionary controller and new types of games. Nintendo are hoping to attract gamers who have never previously played. You move, Wii senses and you see the results of your actions in true virtual reality. Good news for adults because Nintendo Wii is not just for children.  Adults of any age can choose from a range of exciting games and online entertainment as the console connects directly to the internet. I played the bowling and it was fun, it does take a bit of getting use to as my 6 year old nephew showed me (you have to release NOW)

Nintendo Wii, So what is it?

Wii is not just a gaming console, it's a reason to get together with your friends and family and play today's hottest games, or so they say. You can create your own Mii character to star in Wii games (they are so cute, but l do not like it when they made me fat!).  Nintendo are focused on delivering an improved, fun playing experience with better interactivity, instead of just focusing on better graphics. You can buy Nintendo Wii online on the official Nintendo Wii website. Here you will get lots of information about the product. The website contains full technical details about the console and allows potential customers to fully understand the system before buying. Other places where you can buy Nintendo Wii is Amazon, eBay, Toys R us, Wal-Mart and Game stop, l guess the list is endless and it all depends on where you live.

Play dough is a great source of entertainment for kids of all ages. Children less than 1 year mostly put everything in their mouth, so maybe they are too young  however the best age to play with dough is 18 months and more. Toddlers love to squeeze the soft material in their hands, exploring the texture and consistency of the dough. Older children use their imagination and make different things with the dough. It's even economical and you can prepare the play dough easily at home for your kid.
