Teething is a very important development in your child's body and every kid has a different experience. As a parent you have to take very good care of your child during the period of teething as the whole process is little painful for your child. The age at which the first tooth appears differs greatly from child to child. Usually, however, the first tooth - which tends to be in the middle of the lower jaw - appears at around six months of age. The complete set of 20 primary teeth (baby teeth) is usually present by the age of two-and-a-half years.

How do you know your baby has started teething?

If you see a baby who is fussy, drooling, sticking his hand in his mouth, and you can't find any other problems, then it's probably teething.
In some kids you may see thin white line of a tooth poking through baby's gums with no warning signs at all.
Biting anything and everything
Tender gums
Teething gums may be swollen and red or even bruised.
Pain in the gums may travel to the ears and cheeks particularly when the back molars begin coming in. This is why you may see your baby rubbing their cheeks or pulling at their ears.
Not sleeping well.
Above symptoms followed by fever and loose stools

This age is sometimes referred to as 'the terrible twos', because of the temper tantrums for which they are famous.

Toddler behavior can be surprising, frustrating, and often out-of-control. But once you establish a pattern of discipline that works, you'll spend less time scolding and more time enjoying your tot.
