Taking yourself and the stress of modern life a bit too seriously? We can learn a lot from how our children approach life, and perhaps enjoy our own lives a bit more along the way.

    Lessons From My Two-Year-Old

Live For Today – Be present in the moment, this moment, all the time.

Run Faster – What is the fun in walking in circles in the mall? If you’re going to do it, do it at top speed!

Scream More – Bored? Frustrated? Scream more often, as loudly as you can. Have a full-blown temper tantrum if you want. Trust me, you’ll feel MUCH better afterwards and likely experience a profound sense of peace.

Expressive Urination – Pee on the floor (perhaps while you’re in the shower unless you can get someone else to clean up after you). It’s amazingly freeing.

Toss it! Don’t be afraid to throw more stuff away. It’s just STUFF. Try throwing something away every day (or donating it to a 2nd hand store or to the recycling shop).

Do Something New Every Day – Toddlers are still wonderfully filled with a sense of adventure and awe. Do or learn something new every day.

Cut Your Own Hair – Okay, that may sound a little extreme for some people but it’s actually very freeing. Start small if you want – cut your bangs or a bit off the ends. Sometimes you just need a little change in your life to feel inspired.

Most importantly, enjoy each and every day with awe and thankfulness for the amazing-ness that is your life.
