Are you pregnant? Let's check....

Getting pregnant and experiencing the most beautiful feeling of motherhood is something every women dream of. When you start planning to have a baby every month you are curious to know the result and even without planning many women get pregnant but they could not understand the symptoms. Lets check out signs and symptoms associated with pregnancy. Pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. If you have been sexually active and experiencing any of the following symptoms it is important to take a pregnancy test.

happy to be parents

Delay/Difference in Menstruation: Missing of periods is the most common pregnancy symptom and you must go for pregnancy test. Some women might only experience a much lighter period compared to their usual. You might not experience any of the pregnancy signs listed below until around the time you notice you've missed your monthly cycle.

Tender Breasts: This is one of the most obvious early symptoms of pregnancy. As early as two weeks after conception, hormonal changes may make your breasts tender, tingly or sore. You may feel your breasts fuller and heavier. When you become pregnant, your body begins preparing your breasts for producing milk and breastfeeding. Hormones start increasing.

Fatigue/Tiredness: Feeling fatigued or exhaust is a pregnancy symptom which can also start as early as the first week after conception. You may start going to bed sooner, or find it harder than usual to get out of bed in the morning. During early pregnancy, levels of the hormone progesterone soar. In high enough doses, progesterone can put you to sleep.

Nausea/Morning Sickness: This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy. Pregnant women also have a heightened sense of smell, so various odors - such as foods cooking, perfume or cigarette smoke - may cause waves of nausea in early pregnancy.

Backaches: Back pain is caused by several factors. First is your weight change. You gain some weight because you are pregnant, your uterus gets bigger, and your baby grows larger every week. Next, your posture and torso are thrown out of alignment. This weight is mostly in the front of your torso, which pulls on your back. It is like wearing a backpack on your front instead of your back. This changes your posture and puts a strain on your back.

Headaches: Early in pregnancy, increased blood circulation caused by hormonal changes may trigger frequent, mild headaches.

Constipation: In Pregnancy uterus start to swell and push against the stomach and other organs as it grows. Also, increasing levels of hormones may slow down digestion and bowel functions to allow the body to absorb as much vitamins, minerals and nutrients as possible from foods. All these reasons results in constipation. Ask your doctor before taking any kind of antacids as some contain aluminum and should be avoided.

Food Cravings: A well-known sign of pregnancy is craving certain foods or unusual combinations of foods. Everyone pregnant women has a funny story about food cravings. Less well known but equally common pregnancy signs are aversions to certain foods. You may find that some foods you previously enjoyed are no longer appetizing. This can last throughout your entire pregnancy.

Mood Swings and Irritability: The flood of hormones in your body in early pregnancy can make you unusually emotional and weepy. There is also the emotional adjustment period to your new responsibility. It is perfectly normal to feel mixed emotions, excitement and depression, joy and sorrow, laughter and tears.

Frequent Urination: An early symptom of pregnancy that others may notice you experiencing is frequent trips to the restroom. Also, pregnancy causes extra body fluids to be processed by your kidneys and bladder. That means more trips to the restroom.

Higher body temperature: One of the pregnancy symptoms that takes a while to gauge is higher than usual body temperature. You may have been feeling a little bit warm lately and wondered if you are coming down with a cold or something. If you've been trying to conceive and hoping to get pregnant, your doctor may already have suggested that you keep a record of your body temperature every day. If you've been charting your basal body temperature to determine when you ovulate, its continued elevation for more than two weeks may mean you're pregnant.

Implantation Bleeding: One of the less known pregnancy symptoms is the slight bleeding and spotting that can be caused when the fertilized egg begins to implant itself into the uterus. This is known as "implantation bleeding" and it usually takes place between 3 to 6 days after fertilization.

Weight Gain: Yes some unavoidable weight gain is also a sign. You are getting bigger and that is simply part of being pregnant.

These symptoms aren't unique to pregnancy. Some can indicate that you're getting sick or that your period is about to start. Likewise, you can be pregnant without experiencing any of these symptoms. Still, if you miss a period or notice any of the symptoms mentioned above, you might want to take a home pregnancy test. In case the test is positive make an appointment with your doctor. And once pregnancy is confirmed, you can begin prenatal care. Remember becoming mother is a great feeling but require lots of responsibility and care towards your child.
