With summer just around the corner, go ahead and start planning a trip away! Romantic getaways with your lover are all well and good, but nothing beats traveling with your best friends. Whether you want to relax on a beach or party in a new city, there are options for everyone. Here are some ideas to get you started.

    Maui, Hawaii
Maui is ideal for relaxing on the beach, sipping summery cocktails, and getting an awesome tan. Don’t forget your bikini and flip-flops!

Accommodation: The Ka’anapali Beach Hotel is right on the beach.

    Las Vegas
If you want to do something different, (and get a bit crazy), no better place than Las Vegas. Head to Sin City to spend your days lounging by the pool, and your evenings creating your own version of “The Hangover.”

Accommodation: Try the Cosmopolitan, a gorgeous semi-new hotel on the strip.

    Costa Rica
Check something off your bucket list and learn to surf! Costa Rica has incredible beaches and beautiful nature and scenery.

Accommodation: Try Pure Vida, the ideal beachfront resort.

    Napa Valley
Relocate those wine and cheese sessions with your girlfriends to the real deal, Napa Valley. Enjoy the fresh air and amazing views over endless glasses of pinot noir.

Accommodation: The Pink Mancion B&B has afternoon wine tastings for its guests, great views, and an awesome indoor pool.

    Sedona, Arizona
If you want to just relax and breathe fresh air, head to Sedona, Arizona. This spot is surrounded by the stunning Arizona red rocks. Go for a hike, splurge on a massage, and recharge those batteries.

Accommodation: Enchantment Resort, a great spa hotel.

    best travel buddy

Personally I think the best travel buddy is yourself. Unless you’re some psycho, shy, introverted nerd that is. BUT sometimes a little company is needed. I’m going to breakdown the good and bad things about traveling with different kinds of travel buddies.

    BFFs
Yay, BESTIES! I love my B-faces! Your best friends are your BFFs for a reason. Sometimes though your B-faces can really piss you off. If you do decide to take a trip with your gaggle of gals make sure you’re ready for all their antics, good and bad.

    Significant Others
First of all if you have one, good for you, quit bragging. But before you head out on the road together, make sure you are totally comfortable with each other and are ready for the bumps travel can bring. If you are, it will only make your relationship stronger. Also, as an added bonus, you may just get to have sex in really weird, awesome, and hopefully public places.

    Mothers
My mother and I can’t even get through a trip to Nordstrom with out a meltdown and honestly most people would rather shoot themselves than take a trip with their mothers, unless maybe the crypt keeper is paying for an awesome spa get-a-away. If you are one of the sickos that has a close relationship with her mother then go for it. Just remember she’s your mother and there’s a reason why you left the nest.

Whomever you decide to travel with, remember that your mother is probably over protective and you shouldn't listen to what the movies say about the dangers of travel because everything is going to be fine.

    Empanadas

As most of you know I’ve done a bit of traveling in my day. I always make it a point to sample the local fare. Now, usually I’m not even up for breakfast and at most hostels it’s slim picking but if you happen to not be in the throws of a Soju hangover or have the dough to try a great restaurant I’ve got some ideas with you.

Note: You must be willing to step outside your comfort zone.

    Peru
I always enjoy saying that country’s name with as much bravado as possible. Peru in my opinion has some of the tastiest cuisine that South America can offer. During my two week stint there I was up early almost every day. PISCO HAD NO POWER OVER ME!

But I digress, a typical breakfast in Peru could consist of empanadas (shown in the pic above), which are much like a meat turnover, they are delicious and flaky and filled with seasoned animal flesh. Another way to go about it is a soup called Caldo de Gallina, which is Peru’s take on chicken soup. To wash it all down? A piping hot cup of Cocoa leaf tea… Don’t get any ideas over there, t’s just super caffeinated. Also these people make amazing juices. Stop a your local juice stand and let that sweet little abuela mix passion fruit, banana, and mango together for a truly tasty libation.

Korea (the south not the north)
In North Korea no one gets breakfast except for Kim Jong Un but in the Republic of Korea we’re all chowing down in the A.M. A typical breakfast for my Korean cohorts is rice and Kimchi! Kimchi might freak you out at first but let the spicy fermentation be your guide to more adventurous exploits. One non terrifying thing about a Korean breakfast? These people love their coffee so suck it down baby! Also don’t be surprised if fish is also on the menu for breakfast.

    Argentina
These people as passionate but god is there menu limited. For breakfast in Argentina you’ll probably pick up a factura. Rosie what’s a factura? It’s a tasty, sugary pastry that’s not good for you. To wash it done you’ll probably sip on Mate. Mate actually refers to the device you drink the yerba out of. Yerba is simply an herb that is highly caffeinated. It’s also known to be an appetite suppressant and diuretic. So you’ll see those skinny little portena’s sipping on it all day long. Screw the gym just don’t eat and pee all day.

All right I’m running out of time here people. Hopefully this gives you a tiny peak into the world of breakfast.

make money while traveling the world

Many of my friends marvel at how I’ve been able to travel the world and not pitch myself into beastly debt. I often have to remind them that, I wasn’t simply gallivanting the globe I was working. I had two jobs the entire time I traveled. I wrote for a woman’s lifestyle blog and I taught English.

Teaching English isn’t as hard a feat as some may deem it to be. In South Korea you simply need to have a Bachelor’s degree and no criminal record. Through most of South America you just need to be a native English speaker.

That’s simply my take on being a hardworking vagabond. Let’s see a few more approaches to this wanderlust lifestyle.

    Yacht Crew
If you’re lucky enough to have grown up next to the ocean like my friends in San Diego and Santa Barbara you may have taken sailing lessons. Many of them decided to expand on their sailing lessons and turned themselves into regular experts. If you have enough skill you could join a yacht crew. These crews have multiple jumping off points and get to see some of the most beautiful coasts in the world. Just imagine skimming down the Mediterranean, to find out how you can join a crew click here.

    Wwoofing
WWOOF stands for World Wide organization of farming. This organization pairs up volunteers with farmers. You work on a farm for a predetermined number of hours in exchange for food and a roof over your head. While a green thumb isn’t required being bilingual is definitely a must if you want to be chosen for work overseas. Also keep in mind that the work will be laborious. This ain’t play time y’all. Check out the WWOOF website for more information.

    Au Pair
An Au pair is a nanny who also does light housework. They are mostly female and only prominent through North America and Europe. These jobs tend to be a little more stagnant and your contract is going to be at least 6 months long. If you’ve never traveled before this is a great way to get your foot in the door. Work on your resume and create a profile on an Au Pair website.

    Youth Work Holiday Visa
Sorry but this only applies to my ladies under 35. Many countries offer Holiday Visas that last up to one year. You can live and work in a country for a year and be considered a legal alien. New Zealand, Australia, and the U.K are big on holiday visas.

    One Last Thing

Wherever you’re planning to go check into the visa requirements. Some visas can take up to a month to acquire and can cost almost $200.
