Do you remember the playtime options of your childhood? We used to be so active in the playground running around and enjoying our favorite sports. However 80 % of today's generation chooses the indoor source of entertainment like video games, cell phones and internet. Technology is really making our kids less active and this lifestyle could be very dangerous for their health.

If you want to raise healthy, active children, you need to give them the right kind of lifestyle as they grow.

    • According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one American will have a coronary event every 25 seconds. Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S., and the main reason is inactive lifestyle and junk food. Make a healthy food habit among your children from the very beginning. A healthy lifestyle lesson early on can prevent serious problems down the road.

    • Don't restrict your child from eating tempting food. They might follow you in house but will switch to junk with their friends. Be creative and make simple foods like whole grains, vegetables delicious by different cooking style. Even you can add green healthy vegetables in the food that most of the kids enjoy eating, like sandwich, Noodles and pasta. Let your child help you in cooking so that they know the importance of nutritious meal and in case you are not home they can cook something healthy rather than ordering pizza.
    • You are the role model for your kids. Fix at least 30 minutes every day for some kind of active exercise or work out. Go for a walk, jog or gym with your kids and make it a fun affair so that your child enjoys the schedule and never try to avoid the same. Group sports and dance classes are a great place to start.
    • Smoking is the great cause of heart disease not only for active smokers but also for passive smokers. Maintain a healthy environment in your house and keep yourself away from smoking and drinking habits.

Being a parent it's your responsibility to give them a healthy life and only healthy habits can lead to healthy life.
