Kitchen should be ideally full of enticing aromas and there should be no space for bad odour. True, after cooking your kitchen does smells that make you go eew! Using room freshener is not a good idea in a kitchen as it can be unhealthy. Let's check out some natural tips to keep your kitchen full of fragrance.
Lemon: Your refrigerator is full of left food, vegetables and spices and so every time you open your refrigerator it may not smell good. We have an idea! Leave a piece of lemon or ¼ cup of lemon juice in the corner of one of the refrigerator shelves and enjoy the sweet smell of lemon and all unpleasant smells will disappear. You can also use orange in case lemon is not available. Same goes for your microwave. Heat a bowl of water with a couple of lemon slices in your microwave for 30 seconds.
Charcoal: In case you have left garbage and your bin stinks, simply leave a lump of charcoal at the bottom of your trash can. It's excellent for absorbing odours of all kinds.
Coffee: Are you in love with sea food? If yes, you must be facing an unwanted scenario of bad smell after cleaning jumbo prawns. Not to worry, we have a solution. First dispose of the shells. Then leave a bowl of slightly pounded coffee beans on your countertop for a while. The strong smell of coffee will beat the nasty fishy smell for sure.
Baking soda: Very common problem we face every other day with our kitchen sink drain, when it smells foul. Once you are done with dish cleaning, pour a cup of baking soda down the drain and leave for a while. After couple of hours, pour hot water down the drain to flush out the baking soda and smell the difference.
Silica gel: During rainy season, your kitchen cabinets start smelling. Leave a couple of packets of silica gel in the corners. They will absorb the moisture and keep your cabinets smelling clean and fresh. What an idea!
