Sore Stomach - Oh! Painful


Stomach pain may be due to indigestion, gas, acidity, and infection in your stomach or elsewhere. Stomach aches can also be experienced anywhere in the area that falls between the chest and groin. This pain can vary from being mild to moderate and severe. For mild pain you can follow some great home remedies however if the pain is severe you must contact your doctor.

Causes of Sore Stomach:

  • Overeating, digestion malfunctioning, formation of gas or constipation.
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
  • Infections in urinary tracts.
  • Inflammation in gallbladders, appendix or other sensitive body parts.
  • Pre-menstruation disorders.
  • Imbalance in different types of body acids
  • Milk intolerance, stomach flu, ulcers, allergy due to different food products

Home Remedies for Sore Stomach:

  • For immediate relief, chew betel leaves with a few rock salt crystals.
  • Mix 1 tsp each of mint juice and limejuice. To it, add a few drops of ginger juice and a pinch of black salt.
  • Abdomen pain can be due to gas so take a ½ gram of Asafetida & mix it with little water make a paste of it and fill up your Belly button (umbilicus), lie down for 15-30 minutes and you will release some gas for few times, after that you will be fine.
  • For upset stomach take 1 teaspoon coriander or caraway seeds with 1 cup.
  • Lie down and cover your belly button with the palm of your hand. After some time, you will release some gas, giving you some relief.
  • If the stomach ache is due to acidity, the best bet would be to drink plain soda water. It would provide instant relief from the pain.
  • Take dry ginger, black pepper, roasted cumin seeds, dry mint leaves, coriander, asafetida, garlic and rock salt in equal quantities. Grind them well and make a fine powder. Have 1 tsp of this mixture, along with a glass of warm water, after meals.
  • In half a cup of warm water, add a tsp each of ginger juice and castor oil. Have this mixture two times a day, to get relief from stomach ache.
  • Grind three grams of tender tamarind leaves, with enough water, to make a paste. Once it turns into a liquefied form, add a gram of rock salt. Drink this mixture to get relief from stomach ache.
  • Prepare a paste of fenugreek seeds. Now, add this paste to a bowl of curd. This is one of the most effective ways to treat stomach cramps and pain.
  • In half a liter of water, add 2 grams each of black currants and fennel seeds and keep it overnight. The next morning, mash the contents in water and add a gram of sugar.
