MMMM CHOCOLATE!! !Stop the Sugar Craving

Why is it that you can never stop yourself from eating more than one piece of chocolate? Why do you actually feel "good" when eating liquid brown gold!

Chocolate stimulates your taste buds and makes you want to come back for more. It gives you feeling of well being.

Eating a lot of sugar creates a dependency for it. As your sugar levels rise, it increases your insulin levels, which in turn drive blood sugar levels down, which then stimulates cravings! And most people, including me give in to those cravings. The best way to beat a sugar addiction is to keep yourself from getting too hungry and having a balance diet, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

But, when you do have a small amount of chocolate it does have it benefits.

As mentioned on BBC online a study found that eating 100g of dark chocolate each day for 15 days lowered blood pressure in the 15 person-study. But eating the same quantities of white chocolate did not have an effect. The team also said an antioxidant called flavanol was responsible for the effect because it neutralised potentially cell-damaging substances known as oxygen free radicals. But unfortunately it did also mention that chocolate contains a lot of unwanted  FAT and calories. "People who want to add some chocolate to their diet need to subtract an equivalents amount of calories by cutting back on other foods to avoid weight gain."

Now that's some food for thought!
