My hair is the longest it’s ever been. I both love and hate it. My husband loves me to wear it down but wearing it down all the time drives me nuts. Putting my long locks up in 2 huge Princess Leia side-buns may be fun every now and then but they’re not practical for every day.
Just in time, a fun and super easy new hair trend emerges from New York Fashion Week – the Low Pony. Model after model strolled down the runway with different variations of the low pony tail and I for one, loved it!
Critiques have criticized the low pony as “lazy” and “nothing new” but this hot hair trend is much more versatile than you may first imagine.
How To Wear The Low Pony
Low Side Pony – either center the low pony and pull the pony tail forward over one shoulder or offset the ponytail to one side completely and pull it forward over your shoulder.
High Volume Low Pony – tease your low pony for major volume and use a bit of strong hold hairspray to keep it going strong throughout the day (or night).
Fish Tail Low Pony – partially braid your hair, starting at the base of your neck. After braiding a few inches, secure the remainder with a ponytail holder.
Curly Low Pony – curl your locks, either before or after securing them in a low ponytail for more volume and a playful, sexy look.
Braided Low Pony – After placing your hair in a low ponytail, braid the ponytail and use another ponytail holder at the end of the braid.
Low Pony Knot – for those of us with super long hair, the low pony knot is another option. Collect your hair together, wrap it around your hand, grab the end, and pull it through the loop – just like tying a knot and this style doesn’t require a pony tail holder or other accessory.
Low Pony With A Hat – Finally, a low ponytail works great with a variety of hats. Baseball cap for a casual afternoon at the park? Perfect! Large rim hat for a day at the beach? Great!
Stylish, simple and super comfortable, the low pony is one of my favorite new hair trends.
