Sure, animal print is hot this year. No doubt about it. And personally, I adore leopard and cheetah print EVERYTHING, (handbags, skirts, shoes, sofas, curtains, etc), so I’m happy for the animal print renewal.
When it comes to barely there clothing and specifically dresses, I could go either way. Some ladies can pull them off, and some ladies certainly shouldn’t even try (including me! No one wants to see that!)
When it comes to sideboob, I can also go either way. When Micaela Schaefer gave the world a look at her ample sideboob in May, I wrote about the basics of
sideboob fashion.
This past Sunday night at the 2012 VH1 Do Something Awards, Laura Govan combined all three of the above in her barely there, python print dress - complete with super low-cut v-neck and center sideboob.
For those of you who may not know, Laura stars on the hit reality TV show, “Basketball Wives: LA.” She recently gave birth to her fourth child, after which she quickly lost more than 100 pounds.
In true reality TV star fashion, she is now branching out and working on a fitness DVD for working mothers as well as a low-carb and low-calorie cookbook of, “delicious and nutritious” foods.
Many people have called Laura Govan’s snake print dress a fashion don’t. Some of my fellow fashionistas and reporters have even suggested that the dress would be more appropriate for a Halloween costume party than the red carpet (or in this case blue carpet) of an awards show.
Perhaps shockingly, I’m going to have to disagree this time. I’m generally pretty judgmental when it comes to celebrities and particularly celebrity fashion but I think Laura looked great. The brown and red python print looked great with her skin tone and lovely black hair. She pulled off the center sideboob well and looked sexy without seeming trashy. Well done, lady!
