Many parts of world are already experiencing snow and winter is just about to hit all around. Skin care should be the most important preparation before winter finally arrives. Check out some simple skin care rules for staying gorgeous.
As sun is not so strong during winters we tend to forget or avoid sun screen lotions, this is the biggest mistake. Protecting your skin from the sun's rays is still a complexion must. Look for a broad spectrum sunscreen (one that offers both UVA and UVB protection) with an SPF of at least 15. Apply this daily with regular moisturizer as per your skin type.
In comparison to summers we drink less liquid during winters, however it's just as important to stay hydrated now as it was during the hot. If warmer drinks are more what you crave, sip herbal tea instead of something caffeinated or filled with sugar. If you are not hydrated properly throughout the day, your skin won't look healthy and supple.
Winter means dead skin and dry face. So exfoliate plays a key role to get rid of dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. Use scrub (gently) once or twice weekly this will ensure a smooth, even texture and brighter more youthful tone, don't overdo it.
If your skin is uneasily dry, avoid using harsh peels, masks, and alcohol-based toners or astringents, as they band vital oil from your skin. As an alternative, use cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser, a toner with no alcohol. Use them a little less often.
To get rid of dry skin, it's important you use right kind of moisturizer. Go for heavier moisturizer to battle the effects of the wind and dry air. You can also add a serum below your night cream to further lock in moisture. Don't forget hand and lip care. Keep a hand cream and lip balm in your purse so you can hydrate chapped skin throughout the day.
