With growing age we opt for many technologies to keep us young and one of them is Botox. It works however deciding the correct time of applying the same is the most important deciding factor.
According to Dr Darren McKeown, if you have it too young it could actually speed up the ageing process. He claims the idea that Botox could halt the development of wrinkles is a myth, and could actually have the opposite effect.
"Starting Botox treatments at an early age ultimately could do more harm to your looks than good," he explained. Dr McKeown said that excessive use of Botox over a long period of time can cause the muscles to waste away. He explained that overuse of Botox could cause "the face [to] appear inadvertently aged" - despite a lack of wrinkles.
According to the Food and Drug Administration has approved the use of Botox for cosmetic therapeutic medications for people 18-to-65. So, most reputable plastic surgeons will not consider it below age 18.
The most effective area is around your eyes as this is the most sensitive place in your face. Even celebrities opt for Botox at early age and consequences are very much visible on their face. Even if you want to try Botox treatments; look for authorised and well experienced doctor.
This procedure, like any, has its known side effects and basically, you can have a droop of the nerve, usually when it's given on the upper forehead or can cause your eyelid to droop if not done properly.
