Are You Worried Your Skin is Aging You? Your husband looks at another young woman? Are you craving for the attention and compliments? Here lies the solution, so keep reading. Everyone wants to be young or at least, being seen as young. Aging will catch up with almost everyone due to natural traits and the environmental conditions that we are living in. However, even though most have failed in their bid to fight aging completely, there are a few life hacks and tips that will delay the aging process.
Makeup can really change you. Aren't you surprised to find out how old some of Hollywood's hottest and still-working celebrities are!! Who knew Susan Sarandon was past 60, or Christie Brinkley (a face of Cover Girl) was born in 1954. Of course, looking young in Hollywood means avoiding an early, forced retirement, but just what are these celebrity secrets? Of course the answer lies in makeup and little extra care of your skin and health.
Here are some timeless secrets to younger looking skin, no matter what your age.
Conceal and moisturize: "When you hit a certain age, the things you've done before don't apply," makeup artist Robin Narvaez of Manhattan's Borja Color Studio told The New York Post. "You need to moisturize and then use makeup to conceal any imperfections, such as broken capillaries, age spots, and shadows.
Product choices these days are very important. For your 40s, anti-aging and repair products impart elasticity and glow and diminish deeper lines.
In your 50s and 60s, use ultra rich, deeply moisturizing creams to treat thinning skin surface and intense dryness. Even your oily, acne-prone skin can benefit from the daily use of a good moisturizer. Do check the label of your moisturizer it should contain exfoliating ingredients. Many moisturizers contain alpha hydroxyl acids, retinol, salicylic acid, or other exfoliating ingredients. These ingredients could be helpful in improving acne, especially mild or comedonal acne, by increasing cell turnover.
?But keep in mind if you are using a topical acne medication, moisturizers with these ingredients can irritate the skin, and may increase peeling and flaking.
If your skin is sensitive, choose a hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free formulation. So many moisturizers now contain SPF, and it's a simple and easy way to be sure to get your sun protection. Using a sunscreen daily will help protect your skin from aging and skin cancer.
Keep your skin clean: Use a soft warm cloth, as your skin does not require scrubbing. You will do more harm than good if you scrub (even though you may think that you are actually "cleaning" you skin)
Don't over pluck your eyebrows: The eye area is the first place people notice they are aging. It's easy to see the changes by looking in a mirror: crow's feet, laugh lines, and thinning or sagging eyebrows.
Once you hit your 30s, you'll want to be careful not to over pluck your eyebrows since brows are less apt to grow back if you excessively pluck. Remember your eyebrows can take months to eventually grow back.
If your eyebrows are the wrong shape, they can actually make you look older and even sadder. But beware you should never wax your brows since that pulls on the skin and will make you look older. Dramatically changing your look can be as easy as changing your eyebrows! Full, correctly shaped eyebrows frame the eyes and brighten the face.?
Define your Eyes: As people say, the eyes are the windows of the soul. When makeup is applied correctly, it will bring out the eye's true color and enhance the eye's beauty. When you feel good about your makeup you will be more confident and will have one less thing to worry about.
Use a light-colored eye shadow to open up your eyes and make them look bigger--but avoid anything shiny because it's so artificial looking. Curled lashes immediately make eyes pop. But make sure you curl your lashes after mascara application. Lining your eyes helps make you somewhat tiny eyes look 10 times larger. So never leave the house now without a bit of eyeliner on both upper and lower lash (smudging the line makes it look more natural) and mascara.
Lipstick Shades: As you get older and fine lines begin to show, the last thing you'd want to wear is a lipstick that screams. One that draws attention to the fine lines on your lips.
Another trick to looking younger is to steer clear of brown lipstick shades. Avoid matte lipstick as they tend to settle into your lip lines. Instead, try creamier lipsticks or glosses.
(Glosses are especially youthful and make your lips appear bee-stung). What you should get is a sheer lipstick.
Hairstyle: Side-swept bangs and hair no longer than your shoulders will take off years. Style your hair in a way to divert attention from your neckline and accentuate your best features like your sparkling eyes or high cheek bones. By keeping your hair length around the ears and in the back you can soften your neck and shoulder areas. This type of style also works to shorten a long neckline as well.
Creamy blushes and shadows: Older skin usually means dry skin so creamy blushes and shadows are optimal. Also, powder blushes and shadows tend to settle into your fine lines and wrinkles, whereas creamier products 'plump' up your skin. Stay away from anything called matte and a dry, flat finish will only emphasize wrinkles and cracks and for this reason as well do not use bronze.
Stand up straight and flaunt your figure: Think about all the sexy women you know. They stand up straight and confidently. Not only will this make you look ten pounds thinner in seconds, it will make you look five years younger as well. One hint, pants that are slightly too big make you look much skinnier than trousers that are a bit too tight. We have also seen someone wearing something that has been too tight on them and thought, "What was she thinking?" So do not be one of them!
Eat healthy: Knowing how and what to eat can make a huge difference in how you feel. We all know the things that can go wrong when you do not eat well, but as we put on weight this causes your skin to stretch. As you get older, it loses its elasticity and you're left with sagging skin. The best solution to this is to maintain a proper weight. Also, try and do some form of exercise each day for at least 30 minutes per day, walking, cycling, aerobics, swimming, what ever you ilke but get active, your body will thank you for it.
Get a good night's sleep: Sleep refreshes your body. If you regularly get only a few hours of sleep at night, it will hinder metabolism and hormone production in a way that is similar to the effects of aging, warns Dr. Joseph Mercola, author of "The No-Grain Diet." He says seven hours a night is the absolute minimum for all of us, and some folks benefit from more. His advice: Be in bed by 9 p.m. in the winter months and 10 p.m. the rest of the year. With lack of sleep your eyes are puffy, your skin will become pale and dull and your face sags. We just do not want that, so off to bed you go....
Why compromise just because of your age? Live your life to the fullest and be the best that you can be!
