American actress Elizabeth Taylor who died on March 23, was in news in late '50s when Eddie Fisher left his wife Debbie Reynolds to be with her. Fisher and Reynolds's daughter Carrie Fisher, who was 2 years old during their divorce highly respect and adore Elizabeth.
It has now been revealed that Taylor was overcome with grief when Fisher passed away last year (10) - and his daughter Carrie admits she was touched by the actress' outpouring of emotion.
"If my father had to divorce my mother for anyone, I'm so grateful that it was Elizabeth," Carrie said in a statement Wednesday of Taylor, who died at age 79. "This was a remarkable woman who led her life to the fullest rather than complacently following one around."
Carrie, 54 has paid tribute to Taylor, who died on Wednesday (23Mar11), praising her "sense of family" and confessing: "Ultimately I became friends with her". Carrie notes. "She will be missed but never forgotten."
