Madonna and Penelope Cruz have been close friends for several years however she has suddenly realized that Madonna has pursued her only to get close to filmmaker Pedro Almodovar, the Spanish director and writer who made Cruz a star.

Recently both of them participated in a New York dinner where Almodovar was honored. That led to a pitch by Madonna for a film project starring both women, directed by Almodovar. Almodovar was bit hesitant to reveal the script however he promised to read it. ''She still is Madonna. Her name still is magic,'' said an Almodovar associate. ''Who knows? Maybe Pedro's gifts could turn things around for her!''

The famous home shopping show QVC, had  Jessica Simpson appear on it but, she disappointed all the viewers. She presented, one of her purses as the Today's Special Value, along with high heels and jewelry and hats and other things from her Jessica Simpson fashion line. And the worst part was that she was sounding like she didn't have a clue about what she was selling. She told QVC presenter Patti Reilly that "you know more about my bags than I do." Can you believe that!

Lindsay's dad, Michael Lohan spoke about his daughter's downward spiral in an interview with Radar online. "I'm going to get her off the prescription drugs that she's on," Lohan said in an interview. "I hate it when people talk about illegal drug abuse... because it's not just drinking and illegal drugs that kill you. Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop. Look at Heath Ledger and Michael Jackson." Mr. Lindsay requested not to reveal the name of the medication that he believes Lindsay is abusing. "You know why Lindsay's not acting in feature films right now? Because she can't," he said. "Because the girl with all the talent is hidden and buried deep inside this fungus that's grown because of the prescription drugs. She can't be herself. When you hug her she's like, vacant inside. When she kisses or holds me I get chills, and not in a good way-in a bad way."

Michael shared that Lindsay is working things out and very soon she will be a different human being all together. "She's a different person. I was out there for a week when she was living at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and I would sit there and cry. It was horrible. This was not the kid I raised." Marty Singer, one of the top lawyers of Los Angeles has issued a warning to both Jon Gosselin and his lawyer Mark Heller. Singer is the representative of Kate Gosselin and he supposedly  ready to carry the fight to Jon and his lawyer in a case where Jon has defied a court order in the acrimonious divorce. Jon and Kate owned a joint bank account with approximately $201,000 and now it has been discovered that Jon removed hundreds of thousands of dollars from that joint account, despite a court order prohibiting such action. Now, Singer tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview: "If the money is not immediately returned, we will be looking into potential claims against Mr. Heller if he had any involvement with the violation of the court order. "It is very disappointing that Jon Gosselin has escalated this to such an ugly place that her lawyers have to do everything they can to protect her and her children from his outrageous actions."

In his letter to Heller, Singer wrote: "My client's consent was never requested, let alone given for your client's unilateral withdrawal of hundreds of thousands of dollars.......We demand the immediate return to the Account of all monies improperly withdrawn by your client.  If you and your client fail to comply with this demand, you do so at your peril." Lindsay Lohan has received  a job from  Emanuel Ungaro to join the design house as "artistic adviser" as well as new, chief designer - Estrella Archs, reports today's Women's Wear Daily. Hope "Odds are it could work," Moufarrige said, disclosing the appointments exclusively to WWD. "Everything we're going to get is going to be a plus. I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big."

For her part, Lohan, 23, told WWD she hopes to take Ungaro to a "younger place" with a harder fashion edge. "When I'm involved in a project, I give my all to it," the controversial celebrity said. "I feel like there's a correlation between everything I do, whether it's pop music or film. I've always played a big part in what I wear, the costumes. Clothing is something that's so expressive in so many ways. It really interests me. Lohan said her first fur coat was an Ungaro, which she purchased about 10 years ago. Asked to describe her role in the creative process, Lohan said she "kind of oversees everything [Archs] does, while working with her. Golden Globe winner American actress Melanie Griffith has checked into a rehab facility, as confirmed by her rep. "She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy. This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago," Melanie's publicist, Robin Baum, tells Star of the actress' stay at Cirque Lodge in Utah. Routine plan! Her rep is trying to make fool of audience. Going to rehab without any particular reason is not possible. He said she is trying to save her marriage, "She's working with the counselors on getting control of her demons." "The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober," another source tells Star. "He told her that if she didn't get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage." According to a third source, "Melanie's struggling right now, but Antonio has been checking in on her as much as he is allowed, making sure she gets back on her feet. Without Antonio in her life, I honestly believe Melanie would be dead."

This is not the first time that the 52-year-old movie star is in rehab or surrounded with some problems. Since she was a teenager she has battled addictions to drugs and booze.
