Rihanna signs on for reality fashion design competition

The pop superstar Rihanna is teaming up with Girls Aloud singer, Nicola Roberts, for a British talent show on the hunt for fashion's hottest new designer. Eat your heart out, Project Runway!

The show will air on Britain's Sky Living network. Promising designers will be challenged over the course of 10 weeks to create outfits for musicians and celebrities. The show is Rihanna's first TV project.

Roberts, renowned across the pond for her fashion sense, will host the still-untitled program. Rihanna will executive produce the series, in addition to acting as the aspiring designers' muse.

Roberts said, "I am so excited to be working with Rihanna on finding a new up-and-coming designer. I was so flattered when she asked me to work with her on this show. I'm so excited for us to get started."

The ultimate challenge for the wannabe style superstars will be creating an outfit for the Barbadian singer to wear during a performance at the Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park this July. The designer with the most original creation will win the financial backing to launch their own label.

Rihanna certainly knows her way around the racks. The diva, 23, is the face of the Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans collections.

In December, she collaborated with designers at the famed Italian fashion house on her first fashion collection. Rihanna created a capsule line of denim and lingerie that arrived in shops just in time for the holidays.
