• Lady Gaga to mentor 'American Idol' final four next week

    Next week on American Idol, Lady Gaga will mentor the remaining contestants. Lucky participants! The final four also will pick songs from the catalog of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, best known for tunes they wrote for '50s hitmakers like the Coasters (Searchin', Yakety Yak) and Elvis Presley (Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock) and the Drifters and Ben E. King

     

    Everyone is curious to see what suggestions Gaga has for our Idols. Beyond her provocative, attention-demanding stunts, she has a strong foundation in classic pop-music styles, but I can only imagine what she and James will cook up together. And, clearly, Haley Reinhart's Gaga-friendly, having helped the singer promote her new album by performing the yet-to-be released You and I Wednesday.

    No doubt American idol will be a treat to watch with Lady Gaga.
