Brittany Murphy created a scene

The police received a frantic 911  call from neighbors of Brittany Murphy, would said she was shouting and screaming about shots fired outside her Hollywood house. Once the LAPD arrived on the scene, they saw the panicked actress on her balcony, yelling about the alleged gun fire. However they could not find any kind of weapon, bullet or body. Guess what! After investigation the noise was discovered to be coming from a generator, which had been acting up due to the funny L.A. weather that night!
