Beyonce Knowles, the famous American R&B
singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and model was born on September 4,
1981 in Houston, Texas.
Family: Beyonce's
father Mathew Knowles and mother Tina Knowles always supported her and helped
her in achieving a name in the world of music. Beyonce has a younger sister
called Solange Knowles; she is also an actress and singer.
Education: By age seven, she was attending dance school. As a teenager, Knowles attended the High
School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where she showed her musical
talents. She later went to Alief Hastings High School,
in Houston.
Career:
- Knowles started
her singing career in her church choir.
- Knowles was
recognized as a songwriter during the run of Destiny's Child in the 1990s and
early to mid-2000s.
- Destiny's Child
released 7 albums over a period of almost ten years. With the great success
that the group brought them, Beyonce Knowles decided to pursue a solo career

with L'Oréal since 18,
and signed with the cosmetics company in 2003, earning her about $1 million.
She launched her own fragrance called True Star, a Tommy Hilfiger scent, in

turmoil of Destiny's Child in 2000, Knowles had admitted in December 2006
that she had experienced depression from an accumulation of struggle. Since 2002,
Knowles has been in a relationship with rapper Jay-Z, with whom she has
collaborated several times. On April 4,
2008, Knowles and Jay-Z were married in New
York City. However on September 5, 2008 in New York
City Knowles finally revealed their marriage.
