According to the annual Forbes ranking, "Hancock" star Will Smith is the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, earning $80 million over the course of last year. Mr Funny Man, who is only 39, earned those big bucks ahead of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" star Johnny Depp who earned 72 million dollars, reports the Daily Telegraph . Smith is the first actor in Hollywood history to have eight straight movies eclipse $100 million at the box office," He is better known as the hardest-working man in Hollywood, Smith has proved that no matter the genre-be it thriller, romantic or comedy, he can attract an audience".
Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers came joint third with earnings of $55 million each, and "Blood Diamond" star Leonardo DiCaprio rounded off the top five after making %45 million last year.
"Die Hard 4.0" actor Bruce Willis proves he still has the potential to be a huge box office star, after coming sixth in the list with earnings with $41 million. He was closely followed by comedian Ben Stiller and "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets" star Nicolas Cage, who made $40 million and $31 million respectively. The top ten was rounded off by "Old School" funny man Will Ferrell, who earned a measly $31 million dollars, and Adam Sandler with earnings of $30 million.
Collectively, the big screen's leading men took home an estimated $487 million between June 1, 2007, and June 1, 2008,? proving that Hollywood is still a man's town.
