Dark Knight Christian Bale is under arrest
Actor Christian Bale, star of the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight," was arrested in London on July 22nd, 2008' on charges he assaulted his own mother and sister in his hotel suite on Sunday just hours after the European premiere of his blockbuster film The Dark Knight. He denied allegations of assault made by his mother and sister after he was questioned by London police.
The Welsh-born performer, 34, riding high as Hollywood's latest blockbuster film star, spent several hours at a London police station before being released without charge, his Los Angeles-based spokeswoman, Jennifer Allen, said.
"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister," Allen said in a statement.
The Sun was first to report that two family members of the actor's, his mother and sister to be specific, went to a Hampshire police station Monday to make their allegations formally. The case was turned over to London police.
It's sad on Bale's part. One side his Film has? shattered box office records this past weekend by grossing more than $158 million during its first three days in North American theaters, and other side he is arrested.? Bad Timing, but who knows, it may increase sales, cos as the saying goes publicity of any kind is good. I guess we have to wait and see.
