Kung Fu Panda looks set to take Australia by storm this winter having already topped the US box office with its high kicking attitude and dazzling graphics. The movie, which tells the story of a fat panda who dreams of martial arts glory, was faithful to Chinese culture and laced with good humor.
DreamWorks Animation and Paramount's "Kung Fu Panda" has hit the box office, grossing an estimated $60 million from 4,114 theaters and delivering the best-ever opening. It is the third-highest opening after "Shrek the Third" and "Shrek 2." "Zohan" and "Panda" -- the latter toplining the voice of Jack Black -- proved a great combination. "It provides a great mix of action, comedy and lots of heart, which appeals to every member of a family. It's a great start for us," said DreamWorks Animation's worldwide marketing topper Anne Globe.
Other cast members include Angelina Jolie as Tigress, Jack Black as Po, Dustin Hoffman as the vioce of Shifu and Jackey Chan as Monkey, just to name a few of the great cast involved in this movie.

Lucy Liu famous actress known for her roles in "Charlie's Angels" and "Kill Bill," jumped at the chance to star in Chinese-themed movie Kung Fu Panda - because both of her parents are from Taiwan. The actress was born and raised in New York, but has always been proud of her Asian heritage - and was eager to explore it by lending her vocal talents to the animated film. "Working without knowing what you are doing from start to finish is very difficult," Liu said in an interview with The Associated Press. "It was really improvisation. It was exciting. It keeps you on your toes." |
Liu was in Japan on Tuesday with comedian Jack Black and other members of the film's cast and crew for Kung Fu Panda's Japan premiere.
