Great Movies this New Years - Enjoy!!

How are you planning to celebrate this New Years with your partner? How about a romantic dinner and watching a fabulous movie together. And this New Years Hollywood is coming up with some great movies. Check them out.

secret-of-the-grain

The Secret of the Grain:  The film is about North African immigrants in the south of France and it revolves partially around food. In the rustic port of Sete in southeastern France, 61-year-old Slimane, played by Habib Boufares, has worked in the same shipyard job for over 35 years, when his growing dissatisfaction prompts him to try to open his own restaurant.  The film is directed by Abdellatif Kechiche and major casts are Hafsia Herzi, Hatika Karaoui, Bouraouia Marzouk, Farida Benkhetache. This 2½ hour film, like the couscous at its core, will be an acquired taste. For some, writer-director Abdellatif Kechiche has produced a profoundly moving work about the dignity of the human condition, and the film recently scooped the pool at the French Cesar awards. This movie has hit the theater on Dec 24th.

Theater of War: With this documentary, Meryl Streep for the first time allowed cameras to record her preparation for a role. The occasion was her lead stage performance in Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and her Children.  Starring Meryl Streep, Tony Kushner, Kevin Kline. Movie is directed by John Walter and releasing on  24th December. This is basically a behind-the-scenes look at The Public Theater's production of Bertolt Brecht's "Mother Courage" that examines the playwright's life and ideas.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: Benjamin Button is a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. From New Orleans at the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, on a journey as unusual as any man's life can be, this is the grand tale of a not so ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds and loses, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time. Story Line sounds really interesting. Director David Fincher and Brad Pitt team up for a third time with this adaptation of a F. Scott Fitzgerald short story. Main casts are Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton. If you are a brad Pitt's fan , this is a must watch, from the 25th December.

The Spirit: This is a proper blend of action, thriller, fantasy and adaptation. Denny Colt, a murdered cop, is mysteriously reborn as the masked crime fighter called the Spirit. Determined to keep his beloved Central City safe, the Spirit pursues Central City's villains from the shadows and seeks to remove to the worst of them all: the psychotic megalomaniac known as the Octopus. Yet as busy as his ongoing mission keeps him, the dashing crusader always manages to make time for beautiful women, though he never quite knows if they want to seduce, love or kill him. But there is one lady who will never betray him, and to whom he will always be true: Central City, the proud old metropolis where he was born--twice. Isn't this sounds interesting? Well wait no more it is out.  Directed by Frank Miller and major casts are Eva Mendes, James King, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Gabriel Macht.

Marley & Me: If you like comedy and love dogs this is a perfect movie for you. John Grogan's bestselling book about his Labrador retriever bounds onto the screen with Marley and Me. Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston star as a couple who adopts the badly behaved but much-loved John Grogan's bestselling book about his Labrador retriever bounds onto the screen with Marley and Me. Marley & Me

As the snow falls on their wedding night, newlyweds John and Jenny Grogan decide to leave behind the harsh winters of Michigan and head south to begin their new lives in West Palm Beach, Florida. They obtain jobs as journalists at competing local newspapers, buy their first home, and begin to make their way through the challenges of a new marriage, new careers and, possibly, the life-changing decision to start a family.  The Grogans adopt the cute, twelve pound yellow Labrador, who in no time at all, grows into a 100-pound steamroller of unbridled energy that turns the Grogan home into a disaster area. It's going to be fun watching this movie.

Bedtime Stories: This is an adventurous comedy and audience is going to love this. An adventure comedy starring Adam Sandler as Skeeter Bronson, a hotel handyman whose life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to mysteriously come. Last Chance Harvey

Last Chance Harvey: Are you longing to see a romantic movie with your partner this Christmas or New Years? Then this should be your choice. An unambitious romance aimed at grown-ups, it deserves the handful of champions it will find, but probably not the Oscar campaign it's heading into. Featuring a lovely performance from Emma Thompson, with slightly less impressive Dustin Hoffman in the title role, it's a small movie of simple pleasures.  New Yorker Harvey Shine is on the verge of losing his dead-end job as a jingle writer. Warned by his boss that he has just one more chance to deliver, Harvey goes to London for a weekend to attend his daughter's wedding but promises to be back on Monday morning to make an important meeting--or else. Harvey arrives in London only to learn his daughter has chosen to have her stepfather walk her down the aisle. Trying to hide his devastation, Harvey leaves the wedding before the reception in hopes of getting to the airport on time, but misses the plane anyway. When he calls his boss to explain, Harvey is fired on the spot. Drowning his sorrows at the airport bar, Harvey strikes up a conversation with Kate, a sensitive, 40-something employee of the Office of National Statistics. Kate, whose life is limited to work, the occasional humiliating blind date and endless phone calls from her smothering mother, is touched by Harvey, who finds himself energized by her intelligence and compassion. The growing connection between the pair inspires both as they unexpectedly transform one another's lives. A soft and simple mature story of relationships.

Waltz with Bashir: Documents the filmmaker's journey toward discovering the truth about an Israeli Army mission he participated in during the first Lebanon War of the early 1980s that left him with a loss of memory about the events.
