Daytime Emmy nominated television personality and author Rachael Ray denies having throat cancer. It was in news that the bubbly talk show host is suffering from throat cancer and expected to be silent for two months after surgery. However according to her rep, she is going for surgery but it's not as serious as reports suggest.
"Rachael is the picture of health. She is having very minor surgery to remove a benign cyst on her vocal cord," Charlie Dougiello, a spokesman for Ray says PEOPLE. "It's a common in-and-out procedure that she will have in early December and it will not adversely effect any of her daytime show or Food Network tapings."
"She's totally fine. It's just something she needs to take care of. She hasn't been feeling ill," says a source. That's good, l hope she tones down her workload as well, during recovery. In 2006, Ray told PEOPLE that she's had issues with her voice for ages. "I lose my voice a lot," she said at the time. "I had a lot of croup as a kid so I don't have the strongest vocal cords to begin with. I went to a voice doctor [who] taught me exercises for my throat and to cut back a little on the caffeine."
Presently Ray is enjoying her third wedding anniversary in Italy along with her husband John Cusimano and family. Congrats Rachael for your anniversary and good luck for your surgery!
