    Just when you thought that it was gaining consensus that matching tattoos for couples are a romantic but perhaps foolhardy way to express your love, Miley Cyrus and her recently announced husband-to-be, Liam Hemsworth, have gotten twinsy tatts.

    My first reaction, honestly, was to gag. I’m happy that Cyrus found love and wants to act upon that connection - but if these two youngins spend the rest of their lives in wedded bliss, it would be nothing short of a Hollywood miracle.  

    And the problem with sweetheart tattoos is that, well, things can change and then you have this reminder of your ex staring at you all the time.

    But after looking into the content of the tattoos that these two lovebirds got, the decision seemed less naïve.  

    They both got segments of a passage from an address of Theodore Roosevelt back in 1910. The entire passage reads:

    “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes up short again and again, because there is no effort without error or shortcoming, but who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself for a worthy cause; who, at the best, knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.”

    Hemsworth has, “if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly”

    And Cyrus’s continues it with, “so that his place shall never be those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.”

    They both have the words inked onto their forearms.

    Luckily, the content of the words seems to be relevant in more ways than just a pair of “Together Forever” hearts, so hopefully even if the relationship does go sour, the tattoo will remain a positive thing for both of them.
