Ricky Martin is dad to twins!

The famous rock star Ricky Martin, welcomed twin boys via a surrogate mother a few weeks ago, his rep confirmed to PEOPLE. The 36-year-old Latin sensation Ricky is very much excited to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will take a year off to be a full-time dad and raise the twins. Interesting!!

 

The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy however the boys' names and the location of their birth have not been released. Earlier this month, American Idol alum Clay Aiken, 29, and music producer pal Jaymes Foster, welcomed a baby boy also through artificial insemination. It seems artificial insemination is becoming a common chapter in Hollywood!

Over the years, Martin has refused to confirm or deny rumors that he's gay."I think that sexuality is something that each individual should deal with in their own way," he told Barbara Walters in 2005. "And that's all I have to say about that."  I refuse to believe he is gay, l mean he is just too HOT!Martin is a multi platinum singer who is best known for hits like She Bangs! and Livin' la Vida Loca. In recent years, the Puerto Rican star has been active in charitable efforts, including the prevention of sexual exploitation of children. Congrats Ricky and new born twins!
