Mayim Bialik Injured in Car Accident

The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik was in a "minor car accident" on Wednesday, according to a statement from a rep. "She is doing fine and will be returning to work tomorrow," continues the rep. "She thanks everyone for their concern."

Bialik was driving alone in a car when it was struck by another vehicle that was carrying three tourists from out of the country, Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Karen Rayner told ABC News this evening.

The crash, which Rayner described as a "near head-on collision," took place at about noon near Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. No citations were issued.

Bialik suffered "a severe injury to her left thumb" and was taken to a local hospital. The tourists were not cited or detained.

Bialik posted a message on Twitter saying, "(husband typing) In pain but will keep all my fingers. If u wanna see pre accident me watch The Soup tonight lol."
