Clay Aiken is now the proud father of a baby son
The former American Idol contestant Clay Aiken and music producer Jaymes Foster, 50 welcomed a baby boy named Parker Poster Aiken on Friday morning August 8th, in North Carolina. Wow what a birth date: 08/08/08 at 8 am! Little man weighed in at 6 pounds 2 ounces.
The singer said in a statement on his Web site. "HE'S HERE!" Aiken, 29, writes. "My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken" Parker is "healthy, happy and as loud as his daddy" and that Foster "is doing quite well."

Mother, father and newborn are doing fine, Aiken's mother says, adding that her new grandson came into the world with a head of dark hair, while her son is "smiling from ear-to-ear." Clay Aiken's American Idol cast mates said "Congratulations! I am very happy for him," Rickey Smith, 29, told PEOPLE. "He has great morals and ethics, and I think his baby will be brought up in love." Fellow Idol alum Vanessa Olivarez, 27, predicts Aiken will be a fantastic father. It was revealed in June that Clay, 29, and Jaymes, 50, had conceived via in vitro fertilization and were expecting a boy. Good-luck to the new family! |
